*Please note that because lunch is earlier this year, we will be having an AFTERNOON snack and recess each day. We will NOT be having a regular morning break. Please make sure your child eats a nutritious breakfast before school each day. Although each student is asked to bring an individual snack in 3rd grade, I like to have a store of non-perishable snacks on hand "just in case". If you would like to contribute an item (big tub of goldfish, raisin boxes, non-chocolate granola bars, etc) please let me know. Thank you!

Back to School Night is Thursday, September 6th from 6:30-8:00. I will be going through the schedule, curriculum map, and other 3rd grade expectations in more detail at that time. I hope to see you all there!

Our first field trip of the year will be in the afternoon on Thursday, September 27th. If you are interested in driving, please be sure to complete all volunteer training and required background checks ASAP through the office. Thanks!

I have received a few letters, emails, and post cards this summer, and I just love hearing about all the travels and adventures you're having! Thank you for sharing!

Over the next week, please help your child prepare for the new year by adjusting bedtimes, continuing to read, read, read, working on the summer homework, and revisiting the uniform (tucked shirts? what? ;) Now is a GREAT time to write names in ALL RED clothing items!! In fact, if it isn't glued, stapled, velcroed, or tied to your child at all times, it should be labeled! This goes for water bottles, hats, coats, gloves, umbrellas.. etc, too!

Enjoy your last days of summer.. and see you SOON!

Ms. Mahn
