I saw this opportunity come up and thought I'd pass it along. On July 10th, from 1:00-3:00 at Graham Oaks Nature Park in Wilsonville, you can make handmade candles just like pioneers (or colonists!) This is an activity that we do during our Colonial Week, too! Registration is required to ensure a spot, but the activity is FREE.
Speaking of Free; Portland Parks has a wonderful program called Summer Free For All. The wildly popular series of free movies and concerts in Portland parks, free lunches, and playground programs continues, better than ever!

Begin Friday, June 29, and run through Saturday, September 8 at various parks all throughout the city. Pre-movie entertainment begins at 6:30 PM and generally includes performances by local bands. Movies begin at dusk.

Summer Playgrounds and Free Lunch Programs (presented by Nike)
Organized sports, games, and crafts – plus a free, healthy lunch for kids up to age 18 at designated sites! PP&R’s Summer Playgrounds, Playgrounds on Wheels, and Summer Lunch programs begin Monday, June 18 at selected parks throughout the City and continue as late as August 24.
