Hear ye, hear ye! Colonial Week Cometh Soon!

Next week is a very special week in 3rd grade- Colonial Week! We will be spending the entire week immersed in Colonial America. In particular, this means  no electricity of any kind! I ask families to follow through as best you can at home, too. Each day, we will be learning crafts and games that the children can bring home to teach to the family.

I would love to have some extra hands next week during our colonial activities. We will be weaving, stitching, candle-dipping, soap-making, baking, butter-churning, and more! Please let me know if you are available for any part of next week. I also have some prepwork that can be done this week if anyone would like a project that they can work on from home.

In order to cook like colonists (and not use our fancy-dancy electric ovens!) we'll need to build a fire pit. If one or two parents are willing to help dig/roll the sod from the field (so that it can be replaced when we are finished) and build the pit either next weekend or Tuesday after school, please let me know!

Thank you, and have a wonderful Monday!
